Frequently asked questions

Does ChatGPT support MCP?

Yes. ChatGPT can connect to hosted MCP servers as custom plugins (formerly called connectors). It cannot reach servers that run on your own computer; use Codex for those.

Where do I add an MCP server in ChatGPT?

At chatgpt.com/plugins: click +, choose Add custom MCP server, paste the server's address and create it as a plugin.

Why can't I add a server on my company account?

On Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces an admin has to allow custom MCP servers first, under workspace settings.
