How to add an MCP server to Windsurf
Step 1
Open the Cascade panel and click the ... menu at the top right.
Step 2
In the MCPs section, open the MCP config file and paste the server's settings.
Step 3
Switch the server on in the MCPs list and sign in if asked.

In Cascade, open the ... menu, go to MCPs, open the config file and paste the server's settings under mcpServers, then switch it on.
Is Windsurf now Devin Desktop?
Windsurf's docs now live under Devin Desktop and its newer config file is ~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json. The Windsurf file keeps working.
How many MCP tools can Windsurf use?
Cascade can use up to 100 tools in total across your servers, so switch off servers you do not need.
