  "$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
  "mcp": {
    "notion": {

Frequently asked questions

How do I add an MCP server to OpenCode?

Add it to opencode.json under mcp, with type remote and url for a hosted server, or type local and command for one on your computer. opencode mcp add walks you through it.

Why is OpenCode's format different?

OpenCode uses a top-level mcp key and puts the command and its arguments in one list, with environment variables under environment.

Does OpenCode support sign-in for MCP servers?

Yes, it detects when a server needs a sign-in, opens the browser, and keeps the token. opencode mcp auth list shows the status.
