Agentic AI Courses: The 18 Best AI Agent Courses for 2026
Every course below was checked on its own page on October 25, 2026, including the price, the hours, the certificate and the last update, because agent tools change every few weeks.
By Yotam DahanUpdated 13 min readChoosing an AI course
The agentic AI course that fits you depends on one question: do you want to understand and use AI agents, or build them in code? If you don't code, start with a free three-hour primer such as IBM's Introduction to Agentic AI, then build a first agent inside a tool you already use, such as Copilot Studio, Salesforce or n8n. If you write Python, DeepLearning.AI's Agentic AI and the free Hugging Face Agents Course are the strongest places to start, and a paid cohort only makes sense once you are stuck.
Agentic AI course or AI agents course: which do you need?
Sellers use both names for the same kind of course. An AI agent is software where an AI model decides the next step and uses tools, such as a web search, a spreadsheet or your email, until a task is done; "agentic AI" is the wider label for systems built that way. Our guide to what an AI agent is explains the difference in plain English.
What really separates one course from another is the level it teaches at:
Understand agents
Short, no-code courses on what agents can do, where they fail and how to use them safely. Good for owners and managers.
Build without code
Agents built inside a platform such as Copilot Studio, Salesforce Agentforce or n8n, with forms and nodes instead of code.
Build in code
Python courses on tool calling, memory, multi-agent patterns and testing, often with frameworks such as LangGraph or CrewAI.
This guide covers agent courses only. For workflow automation courses in n8n, Zapier or Make, where every step is fixed in advance, see our roundup of the best AI automation courses; for n8n alone, see the best n8n courses.
The best AI agent courses for beginners and non-coders
Coursera Plus costs $59 a month or $399 a year (Coursera Plus), and Udemy prices depend on your country and the current sale, so neither is repeated in the table.

A free first look: IBM's three-hour primer
IBM's Introduction to Agentic AI runs in your browser with nothing to install and no code. In three lessons it covers what makes software an agent, tool use and MCP (Model Context Protocol, a standard way to plug tools into an AI), and teams of agents that hand work to each other. It is free and rated 4.8 from more than 34,800 reviews, but it offers no certificate.
Take it first if you are still deciding whether agents are worth your time. It is also a quick way to learn the vocabulary every paid course assumes you know.
For owners and managers: Vanderbilt or Harvard
Vanderbilt's Primer for Leaders on Coursera has two modules, agent concepts and building custom GPTs, and 134,139 people have enrolled. Coursera lists about 6 hours, though its module estimates add up to about 7. Its sister course, ChatGPT & Zapier: Agentic AI for Everyone, goes one step further and builds an agent with Zapier in about 8 hours.
Harvard Online's Agentic AI Foundations costs $595 for a fixed four-week class, with enrollment open until November 26, 2026. It stays at the level of business uses, risks and governance: you pay for the Harvard name and a deadline, not for hands-on building.
- Choose Vanderbilt if you want the cheapest structured overview, or you already pay for Coursera Plus.
- Choose Harvard if a university certificate matters to your employer and a fixed schedule keeps you going.
Build a first agent inside a tool you already use
If your company runs on Microsoft 365 or Salesforce, learn agents where you will use them. Microsoft Learn's Copilot Studio path is free and marked intermediate, and it assumes you have already opened Copilot Studio. Salesforce's Agentblazer trails are free and come in three levels for 2026, Champion, Innovator and Legend, and the status has to be renewed every year.
If you picked n8n, its free course In Practice (N8N103) covers the AI Agent node with tools and memory in 3 to 4 hours. n8n recommends its Essentials and Integrations courses first, and you need an n8n instance the internet can reach plus an API key from a model provider. Our n8n AI agent tutorial builds the same kind of agent step by step.
A recorded no-code course, or a live cohort
Udemy's AI Agents For All! is rated 4.5 from 2,170 ratings and was updated in September 2026. Its own update note says Flowise was removed in August 2026 and the lessons were remade with Lovable, Claude Code and Codex, yet its "what you'll learn" list still promises Flowise. That is why you read the lecture list, not the bullet points.
Maven's Build an AI Agent: The Step After Cowork is for people who already use Claude, have never written code and want an agent that runs on its own schedule. It costs $1,095 for live classes from November 4 to 19, 2026, and its page says plainly that it is not a beginner course.
Before you pay for either, spend one evening with our guide on how to build an AI agent without coding. It shows which parts you can do alone and which parts you need help with.
The best agentic AI courses for builders who code
These courses expect at least basic Python. Free courses are as strong as paid ones here, because the companies behind the frameworks teach them.

Start free: Hugging Face, DeepLearning.AI or Google
The Hugging Face Agents Course is the best free start if you want a certificate. Finish Unit 1 for the fundamentals certificate, or Unit 1, one use-case assignment and the final challenge for the certificate of completion, with no deadline. It teaches three frameworks: smolagents, LlamaIndex and LangGraph.
DeepLearning.AI's Agentic AI, taught by Andrew Ng, teaches patterns instead of one framework: reflection, tool use, planning and multi-agent workflows, plus evaluation and error analysis. The videos are free; the 8 graded assignments and the certificate need Pro. Its short course Multi AI Agent Systems with crewAI, 3 hours and updated October 12, 2026, is free for a limited time while DeepLearning.AI's learning platform is in beta.
Google's 5-Day AI Agents Intensive builds agents with Google's Agent Development Kit (ADK) and Gemini in Kaggle notebooks. You need a phone-verified Kaggle account and an API key from Google AI Studio, and the deployment codelab on the last day, which puts your agent on Google Cloud, is optional.
Microsoft's AI Agents for Beginners covers newer topics such as context engineering, agent memory and securing agents, and its samples use Microsoft Agent Framework. It is translated into more than 50 languages, but it has no certificate and its samples need an Azure account.
Read the course list before you pay for a certificate
University-branded specializations look like agent programs, so check where the hours go. Vanderbilt's AI Agent Developer has 4.8 stars from 10,650 reviews and 52,447 learners, yet only its first two courses, 18 of its 64 hours, are about agents.
IBM's RAG and Agentic AI certificate is the opposite: 10 courses, about 101 hours by Coursera's own course estimates, rated advanced, covering LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AG2 (formerly AutoGen), BeeAI and MCP. It is the most thorough paid route in this guide, and the slowest. On Udemy, the AI Engineer Agentic Track (4.7 from 50,478 ratings) builds eight projects across the OpenAI Agents SDK, CrewAI, LangGraph, AutoGen and MCP, and its page puts the typical spend on frontier model APIs under $5.
Live help: Maven and Johns Hopkins
Maven's enterprise cohort builds an agent from first principles, then adds search, retrieval and evaluation in four live sessions; bring an OpenAI API key with about $10 of credit. Maven's Agentic AI Bootcamp for Builders & Leaders is longer: $1,999 for five weeks from November 30, 2026, with 9 live sessions and 17 projects. Johns Hopkins' program, delivered with Great Learning, takes 14 weeks at 8 to 10 hours a week and offers a no-code track next to the Python one.
From each course page, checked October 25, 2026. For comparison, a year of Coursera Plus costs $399 and a year of DeepLearning.AI Pro $300.
What a good agent course teaches in 2026
Agent tools change every few weeks, so judge a course by what it teaches, not by the tool on its cover. Before you pay, tick these off against the lesson list:
0 of 7 done
To test a specific curriculum against this list, paste it into Claude or ChatGPT:
I'm choosing an AI agent course. Here is its lesson list: [PASTE THE LESSON LIST]. It was last updated in [MONTH YEAR] and costs [PRICE].
My goal is [THE TASK I WANT AN AGENT TO DO] and my level is [NO CODE / SOME PYTHON / DEVELOPER].
Score it from 0 to 2 on each of these: tool use, memory, human approval before actions, testing, cost limits, a tool standard such as MCP, and how current it looks. Then tell me which lessons I can skip, what is missing for my goal, and 3 questions to ask the seller. The order matters as much as the course. This is the path that wastes the least money:
Name one task
Something an agent could do for you every week
Pick your level
Understand, build without code, or build in code
Take a free course
IBM, Copilot Studio, n8n, Hugging Face or DeepLearning.AI
Build your task
Your own agent, with approval switched on
Pay only if stuck
A cohort or certificate program, once you know what you lack
Where ai school fits
Our automation course, Autopilot, covers automations for leads, email, social posting and connecting your tools without code. It is an automation course rather than an agentic AI course, and it is in early access and not released yet, so it is not ranked here. The bundle of all four ai school courses, also open for pre-order, includes the Claude Code course, where you build an agent that sends invoices from your inbox to your accountant and drafts quotes. If you are comparing agent builders rather than courses, our roundup of the best AI agent platforms covers the tools themselves.
Quick check0 of 3 correct
You run a small business, don't code and want to know if agents are worth it. What is the best first step?
Not quite.
The free primer takes three hours and teaches the vocabulary; a small agent in Copilot Studio, Salesforce or n8n then shows what agents can do for your own work.
Which course gives a free certificate with no deadline?
Not quite.
Hugging Face's certificates are free. DeepLearning.AI's certificate needs Pro, and the self-paced Kaggle guide has none.
A specialization is called "AI Agent Developer". What should you check before you pay?
Not quite.
In Vanderbilt's AI Agent Developer, only 18 of 64 hours are agent courses. The course list tells you more than the title.
What to do next
Write down one task you would hand to an agent this month, such as sorting inbound emails or answering order questions. Then take one free course at your level this week: IBM's primer or Copilot Studio if you don't code, Hugging Face or DeepLearning.AI if you do. Build that one task with approval switched on before you spend anything. If what you really want is automated leads, email and social posting, join the early access list for Autopilot, ai school's automation course.
AI agent course scorecard and first-agent plan
A 10-point scorecard to rate any agent course before you pay, five questions to ask a cohort seller, and a two-week plan for your first agent, with or without code.
Enter your email and the full section opens right here. You also get a free lesson from the course.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a free AI agents course with a certificate?
Yes. The Hugging Face Agents Course gives two free certificates with no deadline, n8n Academy gives a free badge and certificate of completion for its AI course, and Salesforce's Agentblazer status is free on Trailhead. DeepLearning.AI's Agentic AI is free to watch, but its certificate needs a Pro membership.
How long does it take to learn to build AI agents?
A first working agent takes an afternoon in n8n Academy's 3 to 4 hour course or in Microsoft's Copilot Studio path, which takes 3 hours 42 minutes. Building agents in code takes longer: DeepLearning.AI's Agentic AI has almost 10 hours of video, and Hugging Face plans about a week per unit.
Can I take an AI agents course without knowing Python?
Yes, if you pick a no-code one. IBM's Introduction to Agentic AI, Vanderbilt's Primer for Leaders, Copilot Studio, Agentblazer and n8n need no code. DeepLearning.AI's Agentic AI asks for intermediate Python, and Hugging Face asks for the basics.
Is an agentic AI certification worth it?
Most are certificates of completion: they show you finished a course, not that you passed an independent exam. Salesforce lists its Agentforce certification separately from the free Agentblazer trails. A working agent you can demo on a real task persuades more than any certificate.
Which AI agent course is best for business owners?
Start with IBM's free three-hour primer to learn what agents can and cannot do, then build one small agent in a tool your business already uses, such as Copilot Studio, Salesforce or n8n. Pay for a live cohort only if you stall working alone.
