Notion MCP

Search, read and update pages and databases in your Notion workspace.

Officialby NotionHosted, nothing to installChecked October 18, 2026

Notion's hosted MCP server lets Claude search your workspace, read pages and databases, and create or edit content with your own permissions. It replaces the older open-source local server, which Notion no longer maintains.

Who it is for

  • Teams that keep docs and wikis in Notion
  • Content and marketing planners
  • Project managers who track work in Notion databases

Prompts to try

Once it is connected, ask in plain words. Claude decides when to use the server and asks before it changes anything important.

Prompt 1
Find our Q3 launch plan in Notion and list the open action items.
Prompt 2
Create a page in the Content Calendar database for next week's blog post with a draft outline.
Prompt 3
Read the onboarding doc and add a comment listing anything that looks out of date.

How to connect it

In Claude Code

  1. claude mcp add --transport http notion https://mcp.notion.com/mcp

In the Claude desktop app

Customize > Connectors > Discover: search Notion, then select Connect to Claude

Hosted address: https://mcp.notion.com/mcp

Good to know

Run /mcp in Claude Code to finish the OAuth sign-in. Workspace guests cannot connect.

How we checked it

Checked Notion's developer docs, its listing in Claude's connectors directory and the official MCP registry entry (com.notion/mcp); the hosted endpoint answers with an OAuth challenge.
