Frequently asked questions

What are Claude connectors?

Connectors are MCP servers inside the Claude app: they let Claude read from and act in your other tools, like Notion, Gmail or Canva. Many are in the built-in directory; any hosted MCP server can be added as a custom connector.

Are Claude connectors free?

Yes, connectors work on every Claude plan, including Free. Free plans are limited to one custom connector; directory connectors and paid plans have no such limit.

Can I use a server that runs on my computer?

Only in the Claude desktop app: add it under Settings > Extensions, or in Settings > Developer > Edit Config. The web version connects to hosted servers only.
