Ahrefs MCP

Bring Ahrefs backlink, keyword, rank tracking and AI search data into Claude.

Officialby AhrefsHosted, nothing to installChecked October 18, 2026

Ahrefs hosts an MCP server that lets Claude query your Ahrefs account for backlinks, organic keywords, SERPs, rank tracking, site audits and Brand Radar AI visibility data. Calls draw on the API units included in your plan, so you can pull reports in chat instead of exporting spreadsheets.

Who it is for

  • SEO specialists and agencies
  • Content marketers planning topics
  • Founders keeping an eye on competitors

Prompts to try

Once it is connected, ask in plain words. Claude decides when to use the server and asks before it changes anything important.

Prompt 1
Compare the backlink profiles of our site and our two main competitors, and list referring domains that link to them but not to us.
Prompt 2
Find low-difficulty keywords about meal prep with at least 500 monthly searches in the US.
Prompt 3
How often is our brand mentioned in ChatGPT answers compared with our competitors this month?

How to connect it

In Claude Code

  1. claude mcp add ahrefs https://api.ahrefs.com/mcp/mcp -t http

In the Claude desktop app

Customize > Connectors > Discover: search Ahrefs, then select Connect to Claude

Hosted address: https://api.ahrefs.com/mcp/mcp

Good to know

Run /mcp in Claude Code, log in to Ahrefs, pick a workspace and click Allow. OAuth connections get a default cap of 200,000 API units per month, which workspace admins can change.

How we checked it

Checked Ahrefs' MCP docs and Claude Code guide, its API changelog (MCP limits raised 2026-05-27) and its Claude connectors directory listing; the hosted endpoint answers with an OAuth challenge, and the old local repo is archived.
