Dropbox MCP Server

Search, read and organize Dropbox files, share links and send documents for signature.

Officialby DropboxHosted, nothing to installChecked October 18, 2026

Dropbox's hosted server, currently in beta, lets Claude browse, search and read your files, organize folders, manage shared links and file requests, and restore older versions. It also covers Dropbox Sign for sending documents to be signed, and can turn audio, video and scanned documents into text.

Who it is for

  • Freelancers and small businesses that keep client files in Dropbox
  • Creative teams sharing large media folders
  • Anyone who sends contracts with Dropbox Sign

Prompts to try

Once it is connected, ask in plain words. Claude decides when to use the server and asks before it changes anything important.

Prompt 1
Find the signed contract for Acme in my Dropbox and tell me when it renews.
Prompt 2
Create a shared link for the Brand Assets folder and a file request so the client can upload their logo.
Prompt 3
Transcribe the interview recording in the Podcast folder and save the text as a new file.

How we checked it

Checked Dropbox's help center article on its MCP server (beta, updated 2026-09-30) and the Claude directory listing; the endpoint returns an OAuth challenge.
