Xero's hosted connector is read-only and answers questions about revenue, profit, cash position, receivables, payables and invoices for one connected organisation at a time. For write access, Xero's open-source local server can also create and update contacts, invoices, quotes, payments and payroll timesheets through a Custom Connection.

Good to know

The directory connector is read-only and links one organisation at a time; the local command needs the client ID and secret of a Xero Custom Connection.

How we checked it

Checked Xero's help article for the Claude connector, the Claude directory listing (made by Xero, added April 2026) and the XeroAPI/xero-mcp-server repo (MIT, last commit 2026-06) with its npm package; the hosted endpoint answers with a bearer token challenge.
