Intuit QuickBooks MCP

Get profit, cash flow and receivables answers from QuickBooks and draft invoices.

Officialby IntuitHosted or on your computerChecked October 18, 2026

Intuit's QuickBooks connector lets Claude pull profit and loss, cash flow, balance sheet and aging reports, benchmark you against your industry, and prepare invoices and estimates that are only sent after you review a preview and confirm. Developers can instead run Intuit's open-source local server, which covers the QuickBooks Online API in depth but needs an Intuit Developer app.

Who it is for

  • Small business owners
  • Bookkeepers and accountants
  • Freelancers who invoice through QuickBooks

Prompts to try

Once it is connected, ask in plain words. Claude decides when to use the server and asks before it changes anything important.

Prompt 1
How did my profit this quarter compare with the same quarter last year?
Prompt 2
Which customers have owed me money for more than 60 days, and how much in total?
Prompt 3
Draft an invoice to Acme Studio for 10 hours of consulting at $120 an hour and show me a preview before sending.

How to connect it

In Claude Code

  1. claude mcp add --transport http quickbooks https://ai-inc.quickbooks.intuit.com/v1/mcp

In the Claude desktop app

Customize > Connectors > Discover: search Intuit QuickBooks, then select Connect to Claude

Hosted address: https://ai-inc.quickbooks.intuit.com/v1/mcp

Good to know

Claude shows a preview and asks before sending anything. The self-run option is github.com/intuit/quickbooks-online-mcp-server, which can switch off write, update and delete tools.

How we checked it

Checked the Intuit QuickBooks listing in Claude's connectors directory (made by Intuit, added March 2026, 74 tools) and Intuit's open-source local server repo (Apache-2.0, last commit 2026-09); the hosted endpoint blocked our automated probe with HTTP 403, so it was not tested directly.
