Snowflake-managed MCP Server
Give Claude governed access to Snowflake Cortex Agents, Analyst, Search and SQL.
Officialby SnowflakeHosted, nothing to installChecked October 18, 2026
The Snowflake-managed MCP server runs inside your Snowflake account and exposes only the tools an admin chooses, such as Cortex Agents, Cortex Analyst over semantic views, Cortex Search and SQL execution. Every tool needs its own role privileges, and Claude connects through Snowflake OAuth with a security integration or with a programmatic access token.
Who it is for
- Data teams on Snowflake
- Business analysts with governed data access
- Companies that need role-based control over AI access
Prompts to try
Once it is connected, ask in plain words. Claude decides when to use the server and asks before it changes anything important.

In Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http --client-id YOUR_CLIENT_ID --client-secret --callback-port 8080 snowflake https://YOUR_ACCOUNT_URL/api/v2/databases/YOUR_DB/schemas/YOUR_SCHEMA/mcp-servers/YOUR_SERVER
In the Claude desktop app
Customize > Connectors > Discover: search Snowflake, then select Connect to Claude (or add a custom connector with your server URL and OAuth client ID and secret)
Hosted address: https://YOUR_ACCOUNT_URL/api/v2/databases/YOUR_DB/schemas/YOUR_SCHEMA/mcp-servers/YOUR_SERVER
Good to know
An admin must first run CREATE MCP SERVER and create an OAuth security integration; for Claude Code, register http://localhost:8080/callback as its redirect URI.
Unlock the setup steps
Free. Leave your email once to open the setup steps for all 150 servers, and get the best new connectors each month.
How we checked it
Checked Snowflake's managed MCP server docs, its listing in Claude's connectors directory and the deprecation notice in Snowflake-Labs/mcp that points users to it; the endpoint is specific to each account, so it was not probed.
