Prisma MCP Server

Manage Prisma Postgres databases, backups, storage buckets and Compute deployments.

Officialby PrismaHosted, nothing to installChecked October 18, 2026

Prisma's hosted MCP server lets Claude create and delete Prisma Postgres databases, run SQL, inspect schemas, restore backups and manage connection strings in your workspace. It also covers Object Store buckets, existing Prisma Compute deployments and their logs, and a search over the Prisma docs.

Who it is for

  • Developers using Prisma ORM and Prisma Postgres
  • Solo founders who want a database set up by chat
  • Teams running apps on Prisma Compute

Prompts to try

Once it is connected, ask in plain words. Claude decides when to use the server and asks before it changes anything important.

Prompt 1
Create a new Prisma Postgres database called demo-shop and give me its connection string.
Prompt 2
Show the tables in my production database and how many rows each one has.
Prompt 3
Read the latest logs for my api app's live deployment and tell me why requests are failing.

How to connect it

In Claude Code

  1. claude mcp add --transport http prisma https://mcp.prisma.io/mcp

In the Claude desktop app

Customize > Connectors > + Add > Add custom connector, URL: https://mcp.prisma.io/mcp

Hosted address: https://mcp.prisma.io/mcp

Good to know

Run /mcp to sign in and pick a workspace; some tools delete databases or deployments, so check the target before you approve.

How we checked it

Checked Prisma's MCP docs and tools reference, the October 2, 2026 changelog entry that added Compute tools and the registry entry (io.prisma/mcp); the hosted endpoint answers with an OAuth challenge.
