Officialby MicrosoftHosted, nothing to installChecked October 18, 2026
Microsoft's Learn MCP server searches the official Microsoft Learn library, fetches full articles as Markdown and finds code samples, so Claude can answer from current docs on Azure, .NET, Microsoft 365, Power Platform and more. It is free, has been generally available since November 2025 and needs no account or API key.
Who it is for
- Developers building on Azure, .NET or Microsoft 365
- IT admins looking up configuration steps
- Anyone who wants answers based on current Microsoft docs
Prompts to try
Once it is connected, ask in plain words. Claude decides when to use the server and asks before it changes anything important.
Search Microsoft Learn for how to set up a managed identity for an Azure Function and summarize the steps.Find an official C# code sample for uploading a file to Azure Blob Storage.Look up the Microsoft Learn docs on Power Automate approval flows and outline how to build one.How to connect it
In Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http microsoft-learn https://learn.microsoft.com/api/mcp
In the Claude desktop app
Customize > Connectors > Discover: search Microsoft Learn, then select Connect to Claude
Hosted address: https://learn.microsoft.com/api/mcp
Good to know
Microsoft also documents a Claude Code plugin route (/plugin install microsoft-docs@claude-plugins-official) that adds this server plus skills; the URL returns 405 in a web browser, which is expected.

How we checked it
Checked Microsoft's Learn MCP overview and release notes, the MicrosoftDocs/mcp repo (docs, CLI and plugin only, the server itself is closed source), its Claude connectors listing and the registry entry com.microsoft/microsoft-learn-mcp; the hosted endpoint answered without authentication.
