Google Analytics MCP Server

Ask plain-English questions about GA4 traffic, conversions and realtime visitors.

Officialby GoogleRuns on your computerChecked October 18, 2026

Google's own MCP server connects Claude to the Google Analytics Admin and Data APIs, so you can pull reports, funnels and realtime numbers for any GA4 property you can access. It runs on your computer with read-only Google credentials, and Google still marks it as experimental.

Who it is for

  • Marketers and growth teams
  • Website and blog owners
  • Agencies that report on client traffic

Prompts to try

Once it is connected, ask in plain words. Claude decides when to use the server and asks before it changes anything important.

Prompt 1
Which 10 landing pages brought the most new users from organic search last month?
Prompt 2
Compare conversions by device category for the last 30 days against the 30 days before.
Prompt 3
How many people are on the site right now, and which pages are they reading?

How to connect it

In Claude Code

  1. claude mcp add analytics-mcp --scope user -e "GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS=PATH_TO_CREDENTIALS_JSON" -e "GOOGLE_PROJECT_ID=YOUR_PROJECT_ID" -- pipx run analytics-mcp

In the Claude desktop app

Add this to claude_desktop_config.json, then restart the app:

json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "analytics-mcp": {
      "command": "pipx",
      "args": [
        "run",
        "analytics-mcp"
      ],
      "env": {
        "GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS": "PATH_TO_CREDENTIALS_JSON",
        "GOOGLE_PROJECT_ID": "YOUR_PROJECT_ID"
      }
    }
  }
}

How we checked it

Checked the repo under Google's googleanalytics GitHub organization (Apache-2.0, last commit 2026-10, release 0.7.0 in 2026-07) and the analytics-mcp package on PyPI; it runs locally and Google still labels it experimental.
