Draft, schedule and review social media posts across your Buffer channels.
Officialby BufferHosted, nothing to installChecked October 18, 2026
Buffer's hosted MCP server lets Claude see your connected social channels, draft and schedule posts, manage saved ideas and templates, and read post metrics. It is included on every Buffer plan, including Free, and connects with OAuth or a personal API key.
Who it is for
- Small business owners who post on social media
- Content creators planning a weekly calendar
- Social media managers
Prompts to try
Once it is connected, ask in plain words. Claude decides when to use the server and asks before it changes anything important.
Turn this blog post into three LinkedIn posts and schedule them for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 9am.What is in my Buffer queue for next week, and are there any gaps on Instagram?Which of my posts from the last 30 days got the most engagement, and what do they have in common? How to connect it
In Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http buffer https://mcp.buffer.com/mcp
In the Claude desktop app
Customize > Connectors > + Add > Add custom connector, URL: https://mcp.buffer.com/mcp
Hosted address: https://mcp.buffer.com/mcp
Good to know
Run /mcp to approve access in Buffer. To use a key instead, add --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" with a key from Settings > API in Buffer.
Unlock the setup steps
Free. Leave your email once to open the setup steps for all 150 servers, and get the best new connectors each month.
How we checked it
Checked Buffer's developer guide for the MCP server, its support article and MCP page, and the API changelog (MCP client connections added 2026-07-28); the endpoint answers with an OAuth challenge and supports dynamic client registration.
