Hugging Face MCP Server

Search models, datasets, Spaces and papers on the Hugging Face Hub and run Gradio apps.

Officialby Hugging FaceHosted or on your computerChecked October 18, 2026

Hugging Face's official server lets Claude search the Hub for models, datasets and Spaces, browse papers, docs and trending repos, and call community Gradio apps as tools. Public search works without an account, and signing in adds the Spaces and extra tools you choose in your settings, such as Jobs and sandboxes.

Who it is for

  • Machine learning engineers
  • AI researchers and students
  • Builders looking for ready-made models and demos

Prompts to try

Once it is connected, ask in plain words. Claude decides when to use the server and asks before it changes anything important.

Prompt 1
Find the most downloaded open-source speech-to-text models under 1B parameters.
Prompt 2
Show me today's trending papers on Hugging Face and summarize the three most relevant to small language models.
Prompt 3
Find a Space that removes image backgrounds and run it on this photo.

How we checked it

Checked the GitHub repo (MIT, release v0.4.30 on 2026-10-13), Hugging Face's MCP docs, the registry entry co.huggingface/hf-mcp-server and the Claude connectors listing; the hosted endpoint lists its search tools without signing in.
