Meta's Muse for Small Business: An AI Agent Wired Into Your Tools
Meta's Muse agent now connects to Shopify, QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Canva and your Meta ad accounts. Here is what it does, where it works and what to try first.

Meta launched Muse for Small Business on September 29, 2026, adding business skills and one-click connectors to Muse, the personal AI agent it introduced three weeks earlier. Muse can now link to tools such as Shopify, QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Canva, Stripe and Slack, plus your Facebook Pages, Instagram analytics and Meta ad accounts. It is available in the US and Canada and, according to Meta, free for most uses.
What Muse is
Meta introduced Muse on September 8 as a personal agent that takes on tasks and goals rather than just answering questions. You talk to it like you would message a person, in the Muse app or inside WhatsApp, and it runs on Meta's Muse Spark model.
Each user gets a dedicated cloud computer, which Meta calls Muse Secure VM, with its own browser. That is why Muse can open websites, fill out forms and keep working after you close the app. A separate watchdog agent on the same machine has to approve anything Muse sends to the internet, and Muse checks with you before sensitive steps such as sending an email or making a purchase.
What the small business version adds
The small business launch is mostly about connections. Once linked, Meta says Muse starts out knowing what you sell, how your brand sounds and what customers keep asking.
Your store and payments
Shopify and Stripe, so it can work with orders, products and payouts.
Your books
Intuit QuickBooks, for reviews of income and spending.
Your marketing
Klaviyo, HighLevel and Canva, plus Facebook Pages, Instagram professional analytics and Meta ad accounts.
Your team tools
Asana, Box, Dropbox, Figma, Granola, Lovable, Notion, Slack and Zoom.
Anything else
Custom connectors for services Meta does not support yet.
Muse also works unprompted: it flags emails that need a reply and drafts first answers, and an Ideas tab suggests more ways to use it. Meta's own example prompts cover a growth plan built from your sales and social data, a triage of an overflowing inbox and calendar, a review of which ads and posts work with a draft campaign for next week, and a monthly money check that flags odd expenses.
Why Meta is pushing this now
Small businesses already lean on AI, and they say they want help using it well. A YouGov study Meta commissioned, published on October 14, surveyed 3,983 owners in nine Asia-Pacific markets:

The most common uses were creating or editing content, local advertising and translation. Those are exactly the jobs Muse's new connectors are built around.
How to start without regretting it
If you are in the US or Canada, here is a sensible first week:
- Connect one tool. Start with the one you check most, for example Shopify or your Instagram account, not all of them at once.
- Ask read-only questions first. Have it summarize last month's sales or your best posts before you let it draft anything.
- Set email access to read. Meta lets you choose whether Muse can only read your mail or also send it. Start with read.
- Give it one recurring job. A weekly report is ideal: easy to check, low risk, and it shows quickly whether the numbers are right.
Look at my [SHOPIFY STORE OR INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT] for the last 30 days.
Give me the 3 best-selling products or best-performing posts, the 3 weakest, and one likely reason for each.
Suggest two small changes for next week. Do not publish, send or change anything; show me drafts only.Whatever agent you use, the same rules apply: small scope, clear approval points, and numbers you can check. Our guide to AI automation for small business shows how to pick the first jobs to hand over. What to watch next
- A stronger brain. Meta says its new Muse Wonder model will soon power Muse, rolling out to subscribers first.
- Private mode. Meta promises Muse Confidential VM later this year, where your data is encrypted with a key only you hold.
- Payments and logins. Shop Pay and 1Password support are listed as coming soon, which would let Muse pay and sign in with what you already use.
- Countries. Anyone outside the US and Canada is still waiting for a launch date.
